D loved the makeup palette and was so surprised I had bought it for her. Thanks! She’s running out on the eyeshadow she had previously purchased nearly a decade ago in HS! She says Urban Decay is the brand her friends use and she’s been wanting to try it.
She also loved the Columbia jacket which was on sale and very soft and warm!
My 18 y/o son has come home from college suddenly interested in dressing in something other than athletic wear. He’d picked out a couple of things while home for Thanksgiving. When I was Christmas shopping, he said he needed “nicer” t-shirts but every time I asked him exactly he meant by that, he just said he would go look himself. While out getting some necessities with my 14 y/o D on Christmas Eve, we ran into Gap where they were having their 50% sale, which seems to be a never ending sale. I bought this https://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=488242072&cid=5225&pcid=5225&vid=1&grid=pds_13_141_1&cpos=13&cexp=1426&cid=CategoryIDs%3D5225&cvar=10464&ctype=Listing&cpid=res19122613465602674738318#pdp-page-content
and another similar style at Nordstrom Rack. Both were less than $20. He liked them both, even going so far as saying “This is exactly what I was talking about.” Score one for me!
Of course by the time we got home last night from our Christmas festivities, it was sold out in his size. The sale supposedly ended last night so I got a similar one that didn’t have the Sherpa lining. So today, I happen to check again, and the one he wanted was back in stock and the sale had been extended one day. ? I ended up getting the original one, but will now have to return the other when it gets here. Alas, I’m glad he will get the one he originally wanted, and for the sale price so I guess I shouldn’t complain.
I nearly bought a Mickey Mouse toaster, which toasts mickey’s ear hat on the bread but the sales clerk said on Sunday it will likely be even cheaper than the 50% off it is currently. I decided to wait and check back Sunday. If it is further reduced, will buy it for niece for baby shower because it’s so dang cute and she loves Disney (Disneyland was part of her honeymoon). It was $8.49 gut if it drops further as clerk predicted, it will be a great deal!
I don’t know if anyone else has experienced this, but sometimes the actual store and the web site have different prices. I wanted to pick up a black and red flannel shirt for someone Yesterday. At Gap online it was $48. I had to return some things at the mall, so I checked there. It was less than $20 at the actual store.
Papyrus had lots of things half price, and said they would have more great deals by Monday.
@leftrightleft, thanks for posting. I don’t think I’ve ever had pants by LOFT but I just ordered 5 pair of pants that were each $20. Great price…now to see if they fit…
My daughter likes the high waisted ankle pants at Loft. I bought her a pair for Christmas for $ 40 something…just ordered the same in gray for the $20 price! Thanks for the post!
Thank you, google flights, for notifying me that the fare on the flights we just booked the other day dropped by $37 a ticket. Its not a ton of money, but it just took a simple phone call. Appreciate the $74 credit in our airline account, especially since we have to book some additional flights soon.
Went to the Thrift shop and bought a pair of leather 9West Riding Boots with near perfect soles and heels but a little glue expose. My guess is they were what we used to call “irregular” or rejects. Any way they were $9.99 and today was half price day at the thrift shop. $5.00.
Mummy Brut Prestige - only $15 at Costco. Best sparkling wine according to bubbly lovers in this household. The $20 highly rated Costco KS Champagne was GONE!!
So yesterday I posted that I went to Target and all the holiday clearance was 75 percent off. I heard that today everything was now selling at 90% off so I took what I purchased to the store with my receipt and I was credited the difference so that everything I bought was now 90% off. So for example I got a 10 piece nail polish set in all spring colors for $1.
I wear 1/4 zip pullover sweatshirts ALL THE TIME! Usually I buy them at Costco for $20 or so but they’re lightweight and wear out fast.
So I was very happy to stumble upon a brand new Orvis 1/4 zip soft, heavy sweatshirt at a local thrift store. Retail $89, thrift store $9. Life is good!
My building negotiated a new bulk rate with RCN. I now have 500Mbps instead of 50Mbps internet speed, with HBO and Showtime at a price of $52 instead of $106.
I believe someone here likes cuddl duds (maybe @abasket ?). Macy’s is having a one day sale on pjs, etc. and there’s a selection of cuddl duds that are 40% off. No idea if this is a good discount but thought I’d pass it along.
