Your practice SAT's...

When you first started studying for the SAT, how did you do on your practice exams?
I just started studying for the SAT this week, and took a diagnostic exam today. I got a 1620.
Considering it was my first actual practice SAT, I'm just glad I didn't get 1500 or below.
I got a 132 on my sophomore PSAT too, so I guess I've shown progress.. even without any real preparation for my diagnostic exam.

So is practice the real key in doing well on the SAT? I know a lot of people on CC are really smart, since I've been looking at many chance and acceptance threads. I feel like if I do more practice tests, and reviewed my answers, I'll definitely do better. I really want a 2100+ on the real SAT. So how did you guys do on your first practice exams? And how did those practice tests impact how you did on the actual SAT?

My PSAT was 192 (60 R, 80 M, 52 W) and my practice SAT was a 1910 (570 R, 800 M, 540 W). After some grammar review and reading strategies I was able to pull a 2070 (610 R, 800 M, 660 W).

Practice definitely helps, but the real key is knowing the strategies and exactly what the graders and question-writers are looking for.

Definitely take a lot of REAL Collegeboard made SATs that are from the blue book or are released.

I don’t remember my PSAT scores, but I took three practice SATs as part of a tutoring course I took, and I got 1580, 1700, and 1690, respectively.

My actual SAT was a 1760, and I’m awaiting my second SAT score. I’m hoping to break 1800.
