Does it matter what you write about depending on your race? In one Princeton Review book, it said not to write something that'll make you part of the stereotypes. As an Asian, what shouldn't I write about so that I won't sound like a stereotype??

Choose a topic that shows/suggest that you (specifically!) will be successful in the college of your choice, and that you will contribute to that college intellectually and socially. Race has very little to do with that.

Does race really have an impact on the essay? Because in PR, it says not to write about “family values” or “living in 2 cultures” because they’re Asian stereotypes, so readers will be bored by it. :(
