Has anyone who did not send in a 'Your Space' submission ever been accepted to Vassar? I'm curious.

many, including me.

yeah me too, i didnt send one either but i got in

I didn’t send one in either and was accepted regular decision. I have several friends who were also accepted without a your space, some regular and some early.

Sigh. This is so bad, because Vassar was like one of two of my dream-colleges and I just couldn’t get about to mailing them my submission. And then to make things worse I didn’t send them my better SAT scores because I thought I already had. So i guess if I don’t get in I’ll deserve it for being so irresponsible in the first place. Urgh.

well i wouldnt worry about it so much, specially since theres definately people who didnt submit one and still go in. if the rregular application and your essays were strong i think you should still be ok. im curious though, how much better were your scores?

oops, grammar much? =) i meant got* in

i submitted my Penn page 217 for the Your Space thing…

My Pennpage 217? I’m confused! Hehe. I really wanted to send in one of my abstract drawings or saree-design blueprints. Saddest thing, the Vassar admissions office e-mailed me and said I could send it in a 2-3 days late.

@MZ2009. By a 110 marks, which is not a lot, but I did improve on my Critical Reading score. I’m terribly intimidated by multiple-choice questions and I was pretty shocked when I received my CR score on the first round. I scored above 700 on all my practice tests, but on test-day, gah!

With Vassar, I can only hope that my essay works up a miracle.

I think sampole is refering to page 217 of his autobiography maybe? ive heard of that essay topic.

And Really? you actually got an email saying so? idk then, it seems you had all the chances to make it work… i dont mean to discourage you or anything though.
But wow, i wish i could have improved my score by 110! lol, i thought my score(2000) was too low for Vassar so those points would have been wonderful. i still got in though so i would say that theres definately still hope.

Yes, I was talking about my autobiography.

I’ll add my name to the list of accepted w/o a your space.

The Yourspace is optional, so I don’t think they’ll hold it AGAINST anyone if it isn’t submitted. That being said, it’s an opportunity to do more (thus showing that you care more) and show another side of yourself that won’t necessarily come through on the rest of the application.

I was accepted today and my “yourspace” was a totally stupid poem… so I really don’t think it has to be that amazing.

I was accepted and my “yourspace” submission was on how much I enjoy(ed?) listening to Britney Spears music!

I was accepted on Saturday and I didn’t submit a yourspace submission

I honestly couldn’t think of anything worthwhile to send in, anything that would show off a unique side of me admissions couldnt see in my recs, essay, transcript.

so yea.
i think only 1/2 of people who apply submit something. trust me, i called admissions and they stressed it really does not matter at all whether you send in something or not
