Your thoughts

I was wondering about validation… I have mixed thoughts on what to validate, and what not to validate. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Validate everything you can.

i ditto TN.

unless you want to get through engouh classes to minor in it, or just want to be advanced in it, suck it up on the language validation tests so you can be put in an easier class. if you want to get through a lot of classes, go for it, you can get paid more money in the AF, but if it's just something you have to take, don't put yourself through the extra course work

See my thread on Edodo.

my opinion validate classes that you know you know just about everything if your validating a class just by the skin of your teeth dont do it just take an easy A trust me youll take them where you can get em.

Do you get credit for validated classes? Also, if I were to validate comp sci, what is put into its place?

they might just give you another course but if ur unlucky enough to do well in it but not valiate you can go into honors comp sci

So if we validate, there's no choice and we get moved up to something else, right?

pretty much, though if you really don't think you belong in a class, you can talk to the course director in during the beginning of the semester

While everyone who goes to the Academy tends to think they're pretty smart, unless you either are brilliant or have a ton of schooling behind you, don't plan on being able to decide what you do or don't validate. It's a reality that every semester people who got staight A's in high school fail out for academic reasons.

My cadet recommends validating any course you can. The advantage of validating chemistry is that you take a 1 semester lab course, rather than 2 semesters of a very difficult course. One semester of pain vs 2 semesters of pain?

Easier said than done.
