Same exact thing happened to my daughter . She called today and was told she could transfer after the first semester and that it should not be an issue because harpur is the easiest collage to transfer into because more people transfer out of harpur.

alright that makes me feel better
I was so frickin disappointed when I didn’t get into harpur, cause I know what I want to do and I have to be in Harpur to do it

Murray2011, Why do more people transfer out of Harpur?

I just got my letter of acceptance and I did regular decision about 2 weeks ago. They are already sending them out I guess :D!

Harpur is the largest school with over 7500 students and the most students with a undecided major

TSS,

WOW, decision in 2 weeks? You must have “no brainer” numbers!

Yeah I literally finished filling out my Supplement form in mid January, and got a decision yesterday, lol. It’s weird unless they thought I applied Early Decision.

TSS,

Did you post your SAT, GPA etc for comparison?

did anyone hear back from decker?
i applied EA for decker and was got my deferrel on Jan 3.
did anyone heard from decker through EA or RD?

Honestly, I was rather surprised when I was accepted to Harpur for the 2011 fall term. I had a 3.1 GPA with 1140/1600 SAT scores but I wrote a killer essay with really good recommendation letters. Not to mention the large amount of extracurricular activities I participated in. Maybe that is what helped me. :)

I live in NJ by the way.

Good Luck to all!

I got in too! 1370/1600 and 96.45 gpa (school doesn’t use 4.0 scale).
I’m so happy, this acceptance totally made my day :)
