I received an email today saying that I have been “identified as a competitive applicant” for the Young Leaders Summit (YSL), which is presented by the Youth Leadership Consortium. It claims it is a “free, four-day, overnight college empowerment conference” at UChicago. According to its website, it was founded in 2018. It seems a little fishy to me. Has anyone been to YSL? Is it a scam?
It is sketchy. My friend went and he said it was a waste of time. Use your four days on something else
It is a real program. Completely free, and will also pay for your travel if you request it (funds come from private sponsors). Last year the 200 students came from over 30+ states, chosen on a competitive basis (academics, leadership, etc).
