0.33 Off of an A... HELP!

My school goes by trimesters instead of semesters, and I just took my trimester 2 final exam for AP Biology.

I needed a little over an 85 on the final to have an A in the class, but I ended up receiving an 84. I worked very hard throughout the entire trimester and maintained a solid A (93-94) in the class up until last week. Due to two exams I couldn't finish my grade fell to the 91 range a week before the final. I thought I did all right on the final, but I guess not well enough.

Regardless, I'm in a situation where I'll have A's in all of my other classes besides this one. I want straight A's so that I receive a certain award in my school, but I won't be eligible if I have a B+ in the class. I need help with what to do, because I'm not so sure he'll give special accommodations for me to do an extra credit assignment.

Do I talk to my advisor? Do I talk to him directly? Help, please.

By the way, I realize that I need to work harder in the third term. I'm not particularly fond of settling with this grade, so I'd like advice on going about getting the 0.33% I need for an A -- not sticking with what I have.

I’d say to just go talk to your teacher directly and hope that he is sympathetic. Bringing this to your advisor first will make it a bigger deal than it actually is, and your advisor will probably recommend you to talk to your teacher anyways. When you’re explaining your situation, just be very sincere and emphasize how much it means to you. If you’ve been a diligent student, he might be able to give you a little boost. It really depends on the personality of your teacher though.
