Trace back my posts, a little over a year ago I was CAPed by UT Austin. I couldn't even get into Liberal Arts. I mulled entering the CAP program for a minute, but decided to stay home and enroll into a local community college. I enjoyed my experience there as I worked hard to get a 4.0 GPA. I took all the business indicator courses because it is a huge thing at UT if you plan on transferring into McCombs.

Yesterday I found out that I got accepted into McCombs.

My application was not awesome, the only thing excellent about my app was the GPA. I had very little ECs. I did think my essays were solid, however.

If you were unlucky enough to be CAPed this year, you can still get into the toughest major at UT within a year if you work hard, even at a community college. You do not have to go to a CAP school.

If any of you are thinking about opting to go to community college instead, I recommend it. Transferring into any major at UT from a community college is very possible.

Congratulations! I love reading stories like this. You didn’t let the disappointment get to you but instead let it motivate you toward your goal. This is very impressive to me. I love your attitude of refocusing and making the most of your situation. Welcome to UT!

That is GREAT! And when you are interviewing for high-paying jobs in a few years make sure you mention this. It’s a great testament to your attitude and ability to persevere!

so magicman, have you decided to attend UT? because i remember from your earlier post that you said you might wait to come to UT for another year?

Congrats!!! Did you have 30+ hours complete this semester, is that why you just found out? If so how long did it take for UT to make a decision after you sent your final transfer transcript?
