@bernie12 what a rude thing to say. I can only hope that my son doesn’t encounter people like you who say “learn the lingo”. Wow. The Emory community that I’ve encountered thankfully has been wonderful including the many alumni we know. I appreciate that @ljberkow helped to decipher your “nickname” and didn’t try to make me feel like a moron for not knowing the lingo.
I don’t know the lingo myself. When I went to Emory in the dark ages, it was stats, calc, financial, managerial, etc.
@ljberkow I highly doubt many people would know what DSci is. Thankfully we all do now. The PDF that was linked looks like it’s something intended for staff members not parents or students.
I hope that course is easier now than when I took it. It gave me nightmares. It was close to 100% Linear Algebra, at a time before there were personal computers. My brain is simply not wired for that. Kids today are trained and educated, even from high school, so much better technically, but maybe not as well in writing.
@ljberkow I know my son is planning on using AP credit if he scores high enough.
That’s a good use of AP credit. Good luck.
@ljberkow he has found AP stats to be very easy so hopefully the exam isn’t too bad. Our HS has a history of very high scores on all of the AP tests so here’s hoping!
