Tuition is actually fixed to an annual increase of 5%, I think.

Tuition is no longer indexed at all. This means that they can raise it at any time however much they want.

The fixed tuition stopped with the class of 2007. Mine is class of 2008 :(

(Just thought I'd tidy it up a little; I also canned the interim decision one)

eating rice is good for you

there actually aren't more trees than undergraduates... that was one of the myths on the "rice fact or fiction" trivia stuff....

^^^ Yes, there are; the myth is that it is written into the charter, or that there are more trees than total (undergrads+grads) students.

I'm a tour guide; don't mess with me.

Although that probably won't be true come 2009 (along with quite a few others on this list, unfortunately. Thanks President Leebron!)

There actually still will be more trees than undergrads, as the number of undergrads is slowly growing to 4,000 by 2011 (assuming the construction is completed on-schedule, which isn't likely), and there are more than 4,000 trees on-campus. Every tree that is affected by construction is either being relocated or replaced, so the number of trees is not affected by construction.

And I actually like most of Leebron's policies; he's just very easy to attack because he's a balding, nebbish man as opposed to an outgoing, jovial personality. Leebron really has Rice's best interests at heart.

I really don't see how any of the other items on the list would be affected by 2009.

5 will at least

Even at 4000, I think we'll still be one of the smallest major research universities in the country (I believe it's Caltech, Rice, and then I thought that there was a fairly large gap between us and the next one).
