<p>My essays focus on how I started computer programming in middle school and how this passion has led me to want to pursue a computer engineering degree. I discussed some of the software pursuits I took in high school.</p>

<p>What major did you put down? If it is anything with med then I would call it a far reach, otherwise it is a low reach.</p>

<p>Your GPA is a little bit low but your SATs are great. Most of the kids who get accepted have around a 2070, so you are covered! All your academics and your ECs look really good as well! Especially the internship! I believe you have a really good shot at getting in! Good luck!! :slight_smile:

<p>Low Reach; GPA is pretty low, but SATs seem to be in the right range and your EC’s seem pretty good. Just hope that you have good teacher recs and essays. ED will also help quite a bit. Good luck!</p>

<p>I agree with CLSCCES, your GPA is not bad but its not amazing either. But I think your extracurricular are frikin awesome. Your SAT are in range with the average students going there, so your good. Good luck with your college career dude!</p>

That is, if Johns Hopkins defers.</p>

<p>I am split half and half down the middle, which is why I said deferred instead of rejected. </p>

<p>Obviously, your SAT and GPA are fairly low for the accepted average at JHU, and these are by far the more important parts of your application. However, the process is holistic, thus…</p>

<p>I believe you will get deferred and not rejected because of how amazingly strong your ECs, essays, and recs will be. I am very impressed, especially with the extracurriculars, and this will save you from flat out rejection. Even though the ED acceptance rate was close to 40% these past few years, you cannot count on anything from a school such as Johns Hopkins.</p>

<p>It is definitely a mid to low reach, but because the main problem is your GPA. Where does it rank in the context of your school?</p>

<p>Low to mid reach because of gpa, but it seems like the other parts of your application are strong. So in that case, it could very well be a high match/low reach. Your software company rec letter and internship supports your interest in computer engineering well, so it should help quite a bit. Good luck!</p>
