11th Math Marks. Future effect on UC Berkeley application?

A 9.8 is impressive man. Don’t give up.
But what did they actually tell you ?

I sent them yesterday.
I said- “Hi,
I am a prospective international student. My question is that minimum
qualifications from Cambridge’s website for Indian student is - “To be
shortlisted for an interview such applicants will need to have
achieved a minimum CGPA of 9.8 and grade A1 in class X examinations in
the relevant subjects” , I want to get admission into computer
science, I scored a 9.8 CGPA in class X with A2 in mathematics. Will I
be ineligible for interview?”

Then they sent- "Thank you for your email. If you do not meet the entry requirements as specified on our website, then I am afraid that it is unlikely that you would be able to make a competitive application here. We would recommend that you contact one or two of the individual Colleges here at Cambridge in order to check this.

Best wishes

Contact 2-3 colleges you are interested in, they can give you a specific answer. :)

Well, I have contacted king’s college till now.

Wait for the King’s College reply

An interview in India costs 120 pounds !!! :open_mouth: That’s so costly !!! >:P

I contacted 4 more colleges, yeah interview costs 130 pounds eq to 11100 RS. I cannot go to Cambridge for interview, as it will be more costly 8500 for visa, 50000 for going to Cambridge and 3000 from London to Cambridge and then more 50000 to return back. Does oxford has this criteria that 9.8 one for interview?

Both are equally difficult to get into. Getting an interview from ‘Oxford’ is more difficult because we are international. Oxford doesn’t provide any scholarships to Indian undergraduates. They provide ‘Felix’ scholarships for post-grad studies. I’m afraid- an A2 in maths might work against you 8-|
Still, Mail Oxford admissions as well and wait for the responses.

Yeah I’m too afraid, I’ve my mind set onto Cambridge , yes interview is not guaranteed for us from oxford.

you have to give MAT as well, I think you need to score 70-80% in MAT to secure an interview in addition to very good marks in X and outstanding predicted XII marks. And you need to appear for JEE as well. So, in my opinion both are difficult to get into.
