Just curious how many of us there are. If you were rejected with a 1300 or higher, post your score here.

I scored 1300 on the dot and was rejected.

I scored 1300 on the dot and was rejected.

1400/1600
2110/2400

Math: 720, Reading: 680, Writing: 710

My essay was literally probably one of the top 10 UF had received this year from their freshman class. I am stunned right now.

how do you know that your essay was "probably one of the top 10 UF had received this year"?

I don't know that. But it was an amazing essay specifically for UF.

1310/1960

680 Reading, 630 Math, 650 Writing

1370/2030
730 math, 640 cr, 660 wr

4.0 gpa rejected

Damn Holistic Admissions shafted you all, and it's really a travesty in my opinion.

So you don't think that with all the applications UF get, there would be applicants with >1300 getting rejected? I do know 2 admissions officers personally and I know they give certain students the chance to prove themselves and accept them, but there are definitely not the majority of people that get in. There are couple admits that I do find very questionable because of their ability to handle the academic rigors of college but its not my place to decide.

It seemed like alot of students with 25's on the ACT got in for this incoming class. Just saying we had a huge disparity in those that were admitted.

I think it's possible that most rejections of people with 1300+ SAT scores had sub-4.0 GPAs.

I'm sure it was my 3.8 GPA that killed me last year. My 32 ACT and other academic awards couldn't save me. My school didn't rank.

I got a 32 ACT, but I am sure I would have gotten rejected had I stayed at my old school (where my ranking was low) and had I not gotten into an awesome EC senior year.

"My essay was literally probably one of the top 10 UF had received this year from their freshman class."

Obviously not.

I had a 3.8 GPA; I still thought I had a good shot with my 1300 though. I hate to even say this, but I do know a minority who got in with a similar GPA to mine and 100 points lower on their SAT.

Hispanic here.
1360/1600
2000/2400
720M /640 V / 640 R

7 AP's

REJECTED!

What's sad is that kids got in with 1100 SAT's from my school.

It is pretty obvious from the stats on the acceptance thread that UF only cares about GPA & top 10% status!

May sound bitter but those kids from my school are the arse kissers who beg and grovel for every point.
I guess I never kissed enough arse to get into UF.

Top 10% with an SAT of 1100.
I see an early transfer to a basket weaving major for these mental midgets.

There I'm done!
Bring on the flame! arse kissers!

Then don't say it.

That was to Matt125

I have seen it over and over; UF looks for GPA first and scores secondly. You may disagree with me but if you have a super high GPA you are a proven hard worker who will do well. A high SAT score means you are book smart and may not be willing to work. It only makes sense for them to accept PROVEN hard working students.

First off, there is nothing wrong with getting an 1100 on your SAT.
There is much more to a person then SAT scores.

UF cares more about GPA than anything, and just because you have a high SAT means exactly what Helpful Mom said.

I SAID ITS GREAT TO BE A FLORIDA GATORRRRRRRR :)
