<p>Cornell technically doesn’t look at writing (though it will still show up when adcom sees your application but it isn’t a focus). As for the SAT, you can’t just give a number, there are so many factors that go into an admissions decision but it is definitely possible. I got in with a 1410 during ED but I also know people who have gotten rejected with a 1560.</p>

<p>They look at it all together, they like to see a correlation between what you want to go into and what you did in high school. They look a lot at fit in the college you are applying to. I would say to focus a lot on your essays because that is where adcomm gets to see who you are. </p>
