15 ap classes?

After senior year, I have calculated that I will have 15 ap classes. I want to know whether or not this is too much. The courses in question are listed below:

Ap world history
AP Us history
Ap euro history
Ap English Language
Ap english literature
Ap calculus
Ap stats
Ap Us gov/pol
Ap Microecon
Ap Macroecon
Ap psychology
Ap chemistry
Ap physics b
Ap bio
Ap spanish Language

Considering the cost it would take to take these exams, is it even worth it. The two main reasons why I want to take these courses are that they would look really good to colleges. The second and more major reason is that I like these subjects with a passion and although I have taken into account the fact that I should only take the ap classes which are relavent to my future major(s), I am still in desperate need of help.

Thank You

take as many as you think you can handle and still get A’s in

Colleges care more about the number of AP classes you take more than which classes you take. They don’t care that your classes are unrelated to your major; your ECs, instead, show your interests. They want to see rigorous schedules.

Usually, don’t students choose between taking micro/macro? Also, is there a point in taking AP Stats if you’re going to take AP Calc? To me, it seems like AP Stats are for the kids who can’t handle the rigors of AP Calc.

^ That is incorrect. They are two different courses. In fact, most kids take AP Stats with Honors Precalculus. Where do you get your information?

^^ AP Stats has no correlation with AP Calc, as the AP Stats is a non-calculus based class. At my school it’s offered to juniors and seniors, and juniors can’t even take AP Calc. So you’re a bit incorrect on that.

I never said AP Calc had anything to do with AP Stats.

I asked if there was a point in taking AP Stats if you were going to take the harder math class, AP Calc. This is assuming that OP will take both AP Calc AB and BC. Otherwise, it’s understandable if OP was planning to do AP Stats one year and AP Calc the other year.

Anyway, at my school, kids take AP Stats in lieu of AP Calc, because they have decided that would rather take the easier AP course or they decide that they can’t handle the rigors of AP Calc.

No.

Yes, if you want to take AP Stats. While the curriculum is very basic and somewhat dull, Stats is IMO the most useful AP class.

I’m trying to figure out if I’m supposed to take the micro or macro exam. My school offers honors econ, so unlike other AP courses, there isn’t a class called “AP macro/microeconomics”. At my school, the students choose which exam to take. How does it work with other schools?

I’ve seen some people on CC taking AP Stats along with another math class. There’s nothing wrong with that. I was more trying to get the OP to get rid of a couple APs.

^ That’s a really bad system. Buy a prep book and take some practice tests. You should be able to cover both macro and micro in one year, so find out how you are scoring before test sign-up.

Please don’t use your school as an example to make a generalization. No, Stats is not an “easier” math class than Calc that people who do not want the rigor of Calc take. I personally find Stats harder.

^^ How does it work at other schools?

^ I’m not trying to make a generalization. I’m trying to get other opinions on it, because I really don’t know.

Most of us will say that Stats is not an easier version of Calculus, and that there’s plenty of capable people who take Stats for reasons other than they think it’s easier.

Also, there’s really no point in discussing this further. Bottom line, there’s nothing wrong with the AP wanting to take both Stats and Calc.

So, you don’t think OP should cut any APs out of his list?

I think OP should cut Spanish, Lit, Psych, and either World or Euro. Why? Because I said so.

2 AP English classes is hard.
