Hi,
Next year I will be majoring in some type of engineering. I know I want to be an engineer, but I don't know why type yet. Anyway, Should I get a 15" MacBook Pro or a 21.5" iMac (and possible an iPad)? I don't have to worry about the cost. I am staying with Apple too. Would it be better to get a laptop so I can carry it around? What are your thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

MacBook pro. No question. If cost is no object, you’ll be far happier with the top of the line 15" than the non-portable iMac.

Stick with portability!!! A no-brainer.

An iPad is nice, but not really necessary or useful enough to get one for college work.

Our D liked her MBP but loves her new Air for the lightness and battery life.

Best would be iMac and Air, synced via iCloud, if money is no object.

I’d get the laptop (either a Pro or Air) and a bigger monitor for your desk.

@ALF that is a nice suggestion as well, tho I believe OP will need to buy an Apple monitor, but that’s not too expensive.
