15 or 18 credits: too much?

Hello! So I’m about to complete my first semester as a transfer student (I came in as a 2nd semester Sophmore so in the fall I will be a junior). That means I can go ahead and schedule my classes for this fall. I’m a forensic psychology and criminology/forensic behavior double major and I’ll be commuting again. I’m not sure if I should try to take 18 credits or leave it at the 15 (I took 12 this one because everything else was filled up). Also, is this too many psych and sociology courses in one semester?

Since you are starting a new school and commuting I’d probably begin with 15 credits. I’d give yourself at least a full semester to see how things go before you consider overloading your schedule.

You’re saying that you’ve already been at this school for a term, yes? Are your grades looking to be strong? If so, you could try taking the 18, but don’t be afraid to drop or withdraw from one class if it’s too much for you. You might also talk to other students (or see what you can find online) about the realistic workload for each, then make your decision. And know that your Wednesdays are going to be loooong.

If you love psych and etc., that’s not necessarily too many classes in those disciplines.

It looks like it is only 1 day with an extra class. Since you took 12 credits this semester do you need 18 credits another semester to balance it off to graduate on time? What are you doing Thursday and Friday etc. Depending on how much time you have it seems like you would have a lot of time to get work done Wed-Sunday so it could work. If our working a lot of hours it might be difficult. I took 18 credits 6 semesters out of 8 and only cut back to do internships.

@RoaringMice @Mom2Girls2 Based on prior posts, I believe the OP is transferring from a CC to a four year college this spring semester. That was the basis for my recommendation. OP…if this understanding is not correct please let me know.
