Here are websites I wish I had known about from day 1 that I wished I had saved/bookmarked. If you are attending American University in the Fall, remember these websites because they came in handy for me.

American University Mail - www.mail.student.american.edu
How students receive mail on campus. You will check this at least 10 times a day (I may be exaggerating but seriously…). This will be your best friend. You’ll start to get Today@AU emails starting in the summer or even now.

American University Blackboard - www.blackboard.american.edu
The Blackboard system is how students can keep track of announcements, grades, class rosters, homework assignments, readings, etc. This won’t help you at all until you get your classes.

MyAU Portal - www.myAU.american.edu
This won’t be handy until you get classes and have fully enrolled. This is basically the school’s university portal where you can do anything and everything. This is also where you give your parent’s access to view your grades (if you want that!), etc.

American University website - [American University Washington D.C. | Schools, Colleges, Undergraduate, Graduate, Admissions, Academics, Degrees, Faculty](http://www.american.edu)
Everyone should know about this website obviously, but keeping up with the news at AU is important. I bookmark it and follow the website sometimes. Also, bookmark the specific school you are in (for example: [School of International Service | American University, Washington, DC](http://www.american.edu/SIS) if you’re in SIS)

AU Student Government Website - [AU Student Government](http://www.ausg.org/)
AUSG is American University’s student government. Helpful and just to keep up with what’s going on. There’s also an outreach page on the website to apply for SG jobs when you get to AU. Etc.

Jacobs Fitness Center Calendar - [JFC Calendar](http://win14.american.edu/Jfc/calendar/www/calendar.cfm)
Your one stop to knowing about when Jacobs Fitness Center is open/closed

AU Dining Hours and Locations - [Dining Hrs and Location](http://www.american.edu/finance/auxservices/Dining-Hrs-and-Location.cfm)
After awhile you’ll probably remember all the open/close times for the places you like to eat, but it’s handy every so often.

AU Academic Calendar - http://www.american.edu/ocl/FY411/upload/academic-calendar.pdf
Above I’ve pasted the 2011-2012 academic calendar, but for incoming students, you guys should actively be looking for the 2012-2013 calendar. Last I checked it hasn’t come out but I may be wrong.

EagleBucks - https://www.eaglebucks.com/webapps/portal/frameset.jsp
How to check how many Eaglebucks/Dining Dollars you have in your account via internet. Every freshman is given 200 Eaglebucks/200 Dining Dollars with your meal plan!

Getting a TV for your dorm? - [Cable Television at American University](http://www.american.edu/oit/network/Cable-TV.cfm)
There’s the list of available channels for a TV in your dorm.

Terrace Dining Room (TDR) - http://www.cafebonappetit.com/menu/your-cafe/americanuniversity/cafes/details/10/terrace-dining-room
Above I have pasted the TDR menu which is updated daily. TDR is frequented by students very much.

Schedule of Classes - [Schedule of Classes | American University](http://www.american.edu/provost/registrar/schedule/index.cfm)
When incoming students are scheduling classes this semester, you will need to use “Schedule of Classes”. Every semester when you enroll in courses you will need this link.

Federal Work Study Jobs at AU - https://studentjobs.american.edu/LoginPage.aspx
This is the student jobs page at AU. Most of the listings are for Federal Work Study recipients who need money in college (part time jobs). Comes in handy and I found my job on this page. With FWS I am tax exempt!

AUSG Jobs Board - [AUSG Jobs Board](http://www.jobs.ausg.org)
This is the jobs board that AUSG offers. You can find babysitting, internship, part time, restaurant, etc, jobs on this board. Right now it is going through construction because of scammers on the website but the scammers are minimal and you have to be ■■■■■■■■ to not know which job listings are scams. It’s like Craigslist. Just don’t be stupid.

AU Memes - Redirecting...
This is the Facebook page for memes. Every university seems to have a Facebook memes page. If you don’t know what a meme is… google it :). It won’t be entertaining if you don’t get it.
