<p>I think you’ll have a decent/pretty good chance if you switch into a discussion section with either a small waitlist or more available seats than people in the waitlist. For example, you can try to get into discussion sections 101 and 102.</p>

<p>in the case of lecture plus discussion, usually it the discussion session that puts you on the waitlist for the lecture but the number on the lecture doesn’t matter. it is your position for the discussion section which will clear you into both. If you are number 1 on the lecture waitlist but never get into your section, you will not get in. Conversely, if you are number 999 on the lecture waitlist but clear into the discussion, you are in the lecture as well. </p>

<p>I already picked the right discussion section, I think it’s just the lecture that’s the problem…because the discussion section I’m in has the least number of people… So if I wait it out, I’ve got a good chance then?</p>
<p>The lecture really doesn’t mean all that much. It’s really all about what discussion section you’re enrolled in and what number you are on that waitlist. Unfortunately, tele bears only gives you the lecture waitlist number. Call or visit your major advisor to find out where you are on the discussion section–you may be in a better position than you think.</p>
