I am currently a senior in high school and I will be taking the SAT on October 5th.

Previous scores:

March 2013: 1630 (without studying)

June 2013: 1780 (two practice tests)

Do I have a good chance of scoring 2000+? Also, any advice on how to study? (I have the Official SAT Prep Book)

Which section is your strenth and which your weakness? My friends are Asians who study Maths like hell and know little, if nothing, about reading. So I suggest they go over all writing MC questions to get a 650 writing at least.

You should invest time on Writing and Math. Reading takes a long process. Perhaps leave reading for December SAT (suppose that you take sat 2 in November).

Breakdown:
C: 1780
M: 570
R: 580
W: 630

Making the stretch from a 1500, or in your case 1780, to 1900 isn’t really hard. It comes with practice and knowledge of the fundamentals. Making the push from 1900 to 2000 or 2100 requires deeper analysis of the SAT test itself, and even more practice with the types of problems.

Really, it’s not difficult to improve a score below 1800. Anyone can do it if they put the work in. The hill gets steeper once you pass 2000 and you’re yearning for a 2200 or 2300. You can’t expect your score to improve by doing only a couple practice tests and waiting things out.
