I'm just very confused and frustrated. Last time, I took the SAT and got 1900. I thought I would retake it and get a higher score, but I dropped 50 points. I want to break 2000 so then I can have about average for out of state students (I checked on my schools family connection website, the average GPA is 3.69, and SAT, 1800). Will it hurt me? Do they look at the highest sitting only? I know they don't superscore. By the way, last time I got 590 CR, 640 M, 670 W, this time I got 570 CR, 660 M, 620 W.

In my opinion, your SAT is pretty good. Don’t worry so much! (For reference, I just got an 1820 and was insanely happy for that score!) I’m hoping to go to UW as well, so it seems like we’re somewhat in the same boat.

AFAIK, because UW doesn’t superscore, they look at the highest overall score, in your case; 1900. That 1850 shouldn’t hurt you, but in its own right is still be a perfectly acceptable score for UW. (I have a friend, albeit instate, who got into UW with a ~1650.)

Just remember that SAT is only one part of the application. There have been people with terrible SAT’s which got accepted, and people with great SAT’s that did not. Just make sure your application is well rounded, you have a good essay/EC’s and you should be fine.

Send in your highest score. You should be fine with your SAT I as long as your GPA is on par with that test score, as in 3.7+ to be safe. UW loves high GPAs for some reason. I know people who were recently accepted to UW with SAT’s in the 1300-1400 range. Yeah, UW likes very juicy, sad personal statements.
