1st Choice -- Jester W?

Was anyone stupid like me and chose Jester first, hahah?

I think I chose:
1. Jester W (Less renovated)
2. Jester E (More renovated)
3. Moore-hill
4. Brackenridge
5. Prather

Anyone with similar choices?

You can still change your choices, I hope you know.

How/where do you go to view/change your housing selection?

Go to your My Housing page, <a href=“Sign in with your UT EID - Stale Request”>Sign in with your UT EID - Stale Request;

I can’t find that part. Do you have to pay the 200 dollar fee before you can do this? Because I’m waiting until I visit all of my schools before I make a decision. If I wait am I screwed for on campus housing?

I think you’ll be fine–Jester is kind of awesome.

Yeah I still don’t see it. I’ve paid the $50 housing fee but not the $300, the only selection I’m able to make is Shared or Single.

EDIT: I’m a CAP student who will be attending UT starting Fall 2011 if that matters

Hey AltexPape, I’m just as crazy! I put:

San Jacinto (which I figure is probably a stretch at this point, but why not?)

Jester West

Jester East

Moore-Hill

Prather/Brackenridge/Roberts

I honestly think living in Jester will be fun!

the same thing is happening to me,Borb.
I made my payment like 2 days ago, maybe we have to wait couple days to see that option?

I made my $50 payment months ago

You don’t get to pick your housing preferences until you pay the $200 admission deposit. Then (within a day or two) you will be issued a housing contract and can make your selections. From what I’ve read your spot on the housing master list (like who goes where) is determined by a combination of when you payed the $50 and when you payed the $200.

Room assignments are made based on when you paid your $50. They are made in housing application date order.
After you have a housing contract you can choose your hall preferences. CAP students are offered much later in the year after they are admitted.

I chose jester west then jester east; it’s everything I need/want because:

-Jester is cheaper than the newer dorms like San Jan

-It’s got everything in the building (food, lounges, gym, etc)

-I could care less about private vs public bathrooms

-Apparently Jester is the social hotspot

-Building off the previous bullet, while being around so many people may seem distracting for times when I need to work, I have enough self-control to get work done plus the library is close

-I like the fact that it’s a “central location”
