so my daughter has applied ED to one school and EA to a few. she is doing really well this semester so far and in marking period 1 has all A’s…EXCEPT for a pesky B- in AP Lit. The whole class is having trouble in that, with a substitute teacher who started the year off with a pop quiz they all failed. My daughter is doing well since then and her grade is steadily coming up, but at this point midway through the semester it is still a B-. But on the other hand she has A’s in AP psych, AP calc, honors physics, honors Spanish, and honors history. Before this year she is all A’s, except for 3 B+'s (in science and math classes). So this B- is an outlier and really killing her. So the question is, should she send in these marking period grades or not? They haven’t been requested, but would they help her or hurt her? She doesn’t think there is a way to just send in the good ones…
I would not send in the quarter grades unless required.
TheGC can explain a substitute teacher and reiterate something nice about your kid’s effort, when he/she processes the grade report.
