Hello! So I'm just wondering how much importance Vassar puts on 1st quarter grades for EDII applicants. My 1st quarter wasn't bad, just not my best. I have a 4.44 GPA (based on Freshman-Junior) and the only 2 Bs on my transcript are a B and B+ freshman year. All the rest of my grades throughout high school are As. However, this is my 1st quarter transcript:
GPA: 3.85
AP Lit: A
Honors IV Italian: A
Honors Calc.: B+
Honors Physics: A+
AP Psych.: A+
Honors Econ. B (damnit...) I just don;t understand ceteris paribus haha

Do you think that the B and B+ are a problem? I really hope not :/
Thanks!

Nope. I had three B+'s, and I got in ED I.

Of course, that’s assuming the rest of your application is strong. Either way, a B+ and a B in Honors/AP classes is not bad at all, especially for quarter one. First quarter usually tends to be my worst, and my grades always even out to A’s by the end of the year. I think Vassar recognizes that it’s just one quarter out of four, and your grades seem consistent because of that.

Thank you for the input. This makes me feel much better :). Congrats on getting in EDI!!! Hopefully I’ll be joining you EDII ;). I’m the same way with my grades. Always an upward trend from the first quarter slump.
