Hey everyone, I just received my freshman first semester grades and am wondering if I stand a chance of getting into a medical school. I am new to the whole medical school application requirements. I received an A in English, A in Chemistry 1, A- in Differential Calculus, and a B in Physics Mechanics. My overall GPA was a 3.668. Will this B/my GPA jeopardize my chances at medical school? Should I consider retaking physics 1?

A simple search on CC, or anywhere on the internet really, would tell you that the average GPA for the last couple of years to be accepted is around a 3.6. That also means that depending on other factors, people with lower GPA’s are also accepted. No, you should not retake your B. Retaking rarely ends up in your favor because they see both grades.
