I am very worried about something: my fall semester senior year grades. I had a 3.9 cummulative GPA until senior year started. 1st semester of senior year did not go well. I overwhelmed myself with classes and activities I thought I had time for and it took a toll on my performance. I got mostly C's fall semester and worst of all, I didn't pass AP Calc. I did every single thing I could to try and understand the teacher's way of teaching but it just wouldn't sink in. I went to tutoring and studied 4+ hours every night. It's rather odd because at my old high school I was a good math student. I just want to know if I'm out now. Or if I have a chance of being put in prep school. I had been told while on a trip to West Point with other candidates that I had a competitive file. Plus I recently received a congressional nomination. If I had committed to West Point earlier, I could have received an LOA (my ALO is currently trying to push for one for me). Please tell me: in or out or prep school? Thank you.

I’d say this will definitely affect your chances, and not for the good, but no one can say if they’ll send you to USMAPS or not at all.

Hello. I am almost in the same shoes as you. My weighted GPA is a 4.3, but I overwhelmed my senior course load and I got two C’s. If this makes you feel any better, I am sure we are not alone in this panic triggering problem.

Don’t worry too much. Hopefully, USMA understands that we challenged ourselves to the last moment of high school.

Use khanacademy.com for help with calc. I couldn’t have passed without it.
Maybe a better spring semester will help offset the fall.
