The Grey Gardens studio production runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening at 7:30 at the Citizen Bank Theatre (146 S. Allen St). If you’re auditioning on Saturday and can make the show on Friday night, definitely try! Studio productions are MFA MT Directing student productions. (They are somewhat shorter - some songs/scenes may be cut, etc. but otherwise fully staged - it means you can see the show and be back in your hotel before 9:30!) If the department provides you with tickets or allows you to reserve tickets, great. If not, then make sure you get to the theatre early. It’s first come, first served (no pre-sale). The last studio production sold out all three nights and people had to be turned away. If I recall correctly, people were lined up by 6:30 on Friday night (and 6 on Saturday night). Tickets are $3. (I would suggest just having dinner next door at Panera where you can see when the lines start forming and you can be comfortable during the wait.)

If you haven’t made your hotel reservations yet, priceline is a great option. You can usually get non-football weekend rates between $35 and $50. Choose State College North and/or State College South for the best hotels (max about 2 miles from campus/downtown).
