What are my chances to get into any college with this. What can I do to boost my chances of going to college with such low GPA

You can get into many state colleges such as UNCG with these stats...
especially if u had a strong courseload

Right now only schools I was thinking about were Suny of Albany, West Virgina, St.Johns Uni(queens campus), Hofstra and NYU but I heard NYU you need a strong GPA. I really haven't looked at any collegs

NYU might be a little to high of a goal...

What schools should I look into. I live in NY I want to go away but not to far

queens college
hunter

how do u manage a pretty good SAT score with such a low GPA?

Good standarized test taking skills but a slacker in school

oh... good test taking skills, or are you just a smart kid?

I'm smart I just don't apply myself but I'm learning my lesson to little to late

heh, same problem I had in my freshmen year so far, but I'm still a freshmen and now I am learning my lesson.

It would be nice to see if you make it into NYU. :)

What type of EC's do you have?

Football,Weight Lifting, Getting a job and I'm starting some volunteer work with special Olympics and might start at a retirement home

lol MIGHT.. well if u did, it would certainly compensate for the lack of EC's you have... by like tenfold... lol

ARIZONA! Oregon too.

definitely a CUNY. pretty much any of them, probably not hunter or baruch.

I am going to respond as a NY mom. Unless money is no object, you may want to concentrate more of your efforts to a CUNY or SUNY school. You stated that your GPA is 2.2 and you characterize yourself as a slacker. So Unless you come from a wealthy family, your parents may not want to spend between $25,000-40,000 a year on school. As your SAT's are pretty good, it may be more evident to colleges that you did not work up to your ability. I suggest you look at the Suny.edu website and the Cuny website. Also I suggest you get a copy of the SUNY "Viewbook"( it's also online). They give info on each of the Suny colleges. Your 2.2 GPA will probably not get you into Suny Albany. You may want to look at a community college as a safety, as most of the SUNY colleges and CUNY 4 year schools do require a B average or better. If you give us a bit more info as to what your interest are, we may be able to direct you to a particular campus. My d has good grades (89 average and NHS) but lousy SAT scores. We are probably going to have to consider a community college as a safety for her too.

Interesting you said you got a 1400 on the new SATs a few hours ago lol.

Yeah PSATS Thing was 1800 but now I get a 1400 on real ones oh well. Guess got to get back into

an 1800 on PSAT....lol what?
