also what are my chances for FAU and FGCU

UNF and FGCU probably.

hmm alright. do colleges look at you more when you take visits to their schools?

From my expereince, in Florida we’ve got 3 different tiers of public schools.

Tier 1: UF, FSU, & New College
Tier 2: USF & UCF
Tier 3: FIU, FAU, UNF, FGCU, UWF, FIT, & FAMU (I may be missing one)

Your best shot is going to be at one of the Tier 3 schools. Personally I’d probably apply to FAU and if you don’t get in, get an AA at a community college then apply to a better university.

“hmm alright. do colleges look at you more when you take visits to their schools?”

what are you asking?

No, visiting a school won’t help your application. But it will help you understand what you like/don’t like about a school.

I’d go to UNF or a CC and try to transfer up to one of the tier 1’s.

You make the cut for USF, if you can write a compelling essay, I’d apply there as a reach.

A combination of high school GPA (as computed by USF) and admission test scores equivalent to a 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) and an SAT I verbal and quantitative combined score of 1010 or a comparable composite score on the ACT as indicated in the Admissions Scale below:

If the OP is an ethnic minority USF may be possible, otherwise I think his/her admissions chances are very slim. Do they even have essays as part of the application? When I applied about 3yrs ago there wasn’t an essay component.

alright guys thanks. ill probably have 2.7 or 2.8 by the end of the year. if i get into fgcu im most likely going to transfer to a tier 1 school

due to budget cuts, colleges are no longer accepting transfers from other 4 year schools. only way to get into a 4 year school w/o coming from high school first is getting an AA in a Community School.

Also, does anyone know what my chances are for getting into UCF with a 2.6 gpa, 1560 (total SAT - 1100 math and reading only) and a 28 on the ACT?

in my opinion, i think youll be fine but apply early
