Chance for Florida Schools

Hi

I am a senior, graduating class of 2014, and will be applying to colleges soon. Basically I want to know my chances of getting into Florida schools, or other "reach" schools.

My GPA is around 2.5-2.7
SAT is 1780
ACT is 27/28

I plan on taking 1 more ACT and SAT test.

Can I get into USF?

I go to a competitive high school, ranked in the top 10's in the country. I am an "AP scholar with distinction". I have never taken "BS" classes like gym or chorus. I am an officer in the National History Honor Society and Medical Society. Volunteered at 3 hospitals, etc.

Thanks for the help.

Unfortunately, your GPA is far too low for USF. Try community college and then perhaps transfer to a traditional four-year after a year or two :)

What is your weighted GPA (on your high school transcripts)? If it’s 3.2+, you’re likely able to get into the other state “Universities”, such as FGCU, FAU, and UWF (Florida has 12 state Universities). Otherwise, you should follow Thebeatlestoday advise and go to a CC. The rigor of your high school has prepared you to succeed, and after you get your AA degree (with an acceptable GPA), all of the Universities, including UF, would become an option.

Good Luck!

Thanks guys, got into USF :)
