So I’m planning to take AP Euro and AP World both in 10th grade. Is it worth it? I heard both are pretty hard. I go to an extremely competitive school and so far that I know of, no one in school history has done this. I’m also planning to major in Economics and Business, if that helps.
Sure, go for it. They’re among the easier APs, and there is significant overlap as one might expect. If you can, I’d take any other AP besides a 2nd history, just to spice things up and have some more course diversity. Interesting, I suppose, that no one in your school has done this before? Not sure how that’s relevant, but I suppose that would be a rather specific feat.
AP Euro I heard is one of the hardest AP’s, and AP World is also quite hard as well, but the level of difficulty ultimately depends on the school and your teacher.
If you like history then go for it. If you’re that interested, have you considered taking AP US History?
Also, if you’re majoring in Economics, why not take AP Microeconomics or AP Macroeconomics?
Our school only allows us to take the AP Econ’s in 12th grade, so that’s not possible. AP US is only for juniors, so that’s out as well.
Less than you think. ~30% at most.
Bingo! Also, you’re likely to run into the situation where both classes have research papers due at the same time.
In general, an AP History class is pretty time consuming on its own, but in the end, it all really depends on your teachers. I’d say that you should taking World History this year, then go into US History next year so you can focus on your other classes for now.
Do it. At my school those who take both tend to do better on the Euro AP.
It’s not a wise strategy, regardless they are hard or not.
You need to balance your curriculum with English, math, science, social science, foreign language,…
I did APUSH and UConn Euro at the same time, it was well worth it
Like Shia LaBeouf says, “just do it”.
If you can handle the reading I’d take it. If that is what you want to do. Doing your own thing is a lot better than simply doing what everyone else does.
