2 counselor recs?

So, I went to two high schools, one was for freshman year (plus 7&8th). It was a very small private school that offered nothing in the way of honors/ APs, etc. However, I took the most rigorous schedule possible for 8th and 9th grade (both on transcript). To complicate things even further, the lady who was councelor during my time there left.

Moreover, the counselor for my new school (large public) could not possibly know the rigor of my old school, so I'm worried she'll assume and write that those years were easy.

Would it be crazy to have 2 counselor recs? Or would it be better for me to have a rec from new school counselor and then the head of school from my old school (who knows me and my family very well)?

Is anyone in a same/ similar situation and can help?

Bumppp

C’Mon guys, someone has to have some advice.

No, you only need the letter of rec from your current guidance counselor. If you are so worried, simply talk to her and tell her how rigorous it was! I would advise against getting 2 letters of rec from guidance counselors or 1 from a GC and 1 from the head of school. Your GC will try to write a good LoR for you, so don’t worry.

Best of luck,

It would be better to work on developing the best possible relationship with your current guidance counselor. You can explain the details of your previous school, and give her the contact info for that principal. That way she can verify any info if she feels the need.

^ This is correct, also.
