I went to private Catholic middle school that only allowed us to go up to Pre-Algebra, so this year I had to take Algebra I. My schedule for next year (sophomore year):

Honors English II
Honors Biology
Honors Geometry
Honors Algebra II
AP World History
Drama II
Journalism I
Honors Spanish IV

Self-study: AP Human Geo

Basically, I have the opportunity to take AP Human Geo, but I really don't want to sacrifice either my Drama or Journalism electives, because at my school to be involved in the EC (speech/forensics tournaments, newspaper, etc) you have to actually be IN the class. Does taking two electives and one AP class sophomore year look bad to prestigious colleges?

I could take Geometry online this summer and open up that slot for AP Human Geo, but the Geometry course is over $400. We have the money, but I'm not sure it's worth it. The only upside to doing this would be to have the extra 5 on my GPA. Is the difference between being able to get a 4.125 versus a 4.25 worth $400?

Thanks guys. D: My parents think I'm crazy for even considering schoolwork over the summer, but I want my GPA and class rank to be good.
