Hey,
I have already submitted my application.
I have Chinese 4 down, and I am now taking Spanish 1.
Does that qualify as two foreign language for UMD?
Will they not consider my app because the two I have taken are different.
Because on the board of regents, it just say 2 years of foreign language is required. But on the UMD website it says two years of "a" foreign language is required.

You’ll be fine, I believe. They are a lot more interested in your GPA and test scores. Especially since chinese was level 4, picking up another language would be seen as a good thing.

Generally speaking, colleges ask that you complete two or more years of the same foreign language. If you’ve taken at least two years of Chinese, you’re definitely good to go. If not, include in your application the reason you were exempted from Chinese I, II, and III, and briefly describe the depth of your knowledge in the language. UMD is looking for you to have a rough understanding of one foreign language, and it looks as if you’ve exceeded that. Good job!
