<p>Also, if you guys had to choose a recommendation from an alumni of a school you're specifically applying to, or 1 by a high positioned person of a company you interned at (and he hints that the rec is great), which would you choose?</p>
<p>There’s a limit for a reason. Tens of thousands of people apply to Penn, so reading that many extra recommendations would be a chore. Use the recommendation of the person at the company at which you were an intern, but please realize that one part of your application will not make or break you.</p>
<p>An alumnus who doesn’t know your work is worthless.</p>
<p>Who you chose to write your recommendation will not positively affect your chances if both letters are mediocre. Your main focus should be on content. Who do you believe wrote the better recommendation letter? Who do you feel liked you more?</p>
