2 part question: Umiami or St. Johns with a scholarship?

Hey all. I just got in to UM but I was wondering if it is worth the transfer. I go to St. John's on a scholarship (full tuition is 14k a year) but the community doesn't do it for me. Is UM worth almost triple the tuition? A St. John's senior told me she got into Columbia grad school so I could still go to a great grad program (I hear St. John's is better for grad then undergrad) but I feel I could do much better in terms of campus life

Next part: Virginia, Wake Forest, USC and Emory told me they need my spring semester grades to decide if they want to admit me. Should I deposit into Miami or wait it out and see if I get into the other ones? My guess is that tuition won't vary greatly between the five schools and there is always the risk that they will give me an answer after Miami's deadline on the 25th. Are they that much better than UM that I should wait?

When are your Spring semester grades out?

The teachers post them the day after they’re ready. So far I’ve been getting at a rate of one a day so there should be three days left

So you’ll be within deadlines if you send all these grades to all the schools. In addition, you can deposit to a school, and if a better offer (academically/financially) comes next, you can choose to forfeit your deposit and deposit elsewhere.

That sounds great. But if I register for classes at a school and I get a better offer, will I be billed tuition at the first school or can I just withdraw the deposit too?
