2 questions about self-reporting AP scores

If student is taking AP courses this (senior) year and will take the AP tests next May, do you write the course name and put the “date to be taken” as 05/2009, or are they only talking about test scores that the college will be able to look at to make an admissions decision?

Is self-reporting enough for AP scores, or do you really need to pay to the agency to send your AP scores to every college you are applying to? I heard that guidance counselors can photocopy your AP report and send it along with their stuff so you don’t have to pay. (and for that matter, I wish they did that for SAT scores as well … but that will never happen.)

thanks!

Are self reported SAT scores enough?

If you have done well on the AP exams -- pay the fee to College Board and have them send the scores.

"To be taken" is explicit: put down all the tests you plan to take next spring insofar as there is room to record them. Add any overflow to the "additional information" section.

No school (as far as I know) requires nor expects official AP score reports (to confirm those self-reported) during its admissions process. The appropriate time to send these scores is when you know where you will be going so your chosen school can extend to you the appropriate credit and placement. You can verify with the schools of interest, but they will probably tell you to save your money.
