In the new CA4, are you allowed to submit different Common App essays for each school? I wouldn't submit totally different essays, but I would like to add some touches for each school I apply to.

The past CA had a spot for a roughly 250 word essay on one extracurricular activity. I can't find a spot for it on the new CA. My GC recommended putting it in the additional info section for schools that don't have a supplement for it, but for schools that do, leave the additional info section blank.

Thanks!

You can only revise the essay 3 times on CA4.

You can follow that EC essay suggestion by your counselor.

Similar question. I visited Vanderbilt and they were pretty clear about either sending your ACT or SAT, NOT BOTH. Stanford, however, makes you send every SAT and ACT you’ve ever taken, no exceptions. Should I just send it to Vandy, revise the app, then send it to Stanford?

^Since it’s the official SAT/ACT scores that count, I don’t think it matters. You can just not write anything in the common app SAT scores section, and then send official scores to the appropriate schools (I think)

killbeefgoham. you can revise the common app I believe 10 times just not the essay but I tell you there are so many glitches with this current version of the common app I wouldn’t be surprise if we run into problems with that too. So do a version for Vandy then change it for other schools. Vandy’s supplement usually has no essays and is easy.

Also you can just make sure when you send your scores officially that you just send what you want to Vandy.
