1) I am a pretty decent pianist and want to minor in music at Penn. Is it possible to put a piano in my dorm room, or are there pianos in the dorm builidings?

2) Which dorm building is the best? And are the dorms at Penn good, like compared to other ivies?

mm if you wanna put a piano in your dorm room... you'd need a single, if you were in the quad. actually here's what you should do - there's a Music Composition Program in Hamilton... my friend is in it and he loves it. and there's pianos up there. apply to that program, and you'd def have a place to practice.

how do you apply to the music composistion program? and I want to perform in piano, but not really become a composer, so should i apply to the composistion program just to practice piano? and can i just get a room in hamilton, by requesting? and how are the rooms in hamilton?

you apply when you get housing info later on in the year. it's "music performance and composition" and basically you get access to practice rooms which is what youre looking for. yeah you can request a room in hamilton, but i dunno if you'll be able to use the facilities unless ur actually in that program. rooms in hamilton are sweet. sort of a different crowd than the kids in the quad but youll like it if music is your thing. really chill people if my friend is any indication

When during the year do you get housing info? Is it like during the summer after you get in or right on campus when you visit?

they mail it to you in spring

I was just looking at penn's website, it says that hamilton has only one piano in the rooftop, but harrison has two pianos, and you dont have to reserve. Im not sure, do you know anything about harrison?
