2 Quick Questions

The financial aid website says that only admitted students can sign onto PRESTO. I can sign onto presto…does this mean anything?

Is there anyway to check admissions status online?

(I’m a conservatory applicant in case you all were wondering or if that makes a difference.)

I think anybody can sign on to Presto if they have an Oberlin ID. I've been able to log on, and I know others have been able to log on as well.

I don't think there's a way to check admissions status online, unfortunately.

If you applied for financial aid, you got a temporary tracking ID. Although you are not meant to sign on with it unless accepted, if you try, apparently you can get on. My son hasn't tried even though he does have the ID --not much point since it really doesn't mean anything other than the fact that you applied for aid. My son is waiting for his decision. Has been accepted to all 6 of the other colleges he has applied to, but Oberlin is choice #1. He was going to apply ED, but we needed aid and he was not quite happy with his essay that soon. By RD he was ready...I feel a little bad that he lost the "early" advantage...he was sick in September and it really affected him. But he is fine now and has at least 6 schools to choose from. But he would be so perfect for Oberlin.

What did you use for a PIN? I thought you only got a PIN in your acceptance letter?

The PIN is preset to your birthdate in MMDDYY format. After you use that as your pin for the first time, you're asked to change it to your own 6 digit PIN.

Btw, I've been checking to see if they updated any financial aid info for some sort of early indication that I got accepted. So far, nothing has changed. It still says that nothing has been recorded.

Do you think they would update it on presto before giving out the envelopes?
