Have any of you regular decision candidates received acceptance letters? Did you get a financial aid package with your letter?

We've heard nothing except my son's admissions guy e-mailed that he liked his essay.

I was accepted RD about a week and a half ago, and the financial aid packet was included. Hope that helps!

My admissions officer emailed about my application, she said she really enjoyed reading it, and talked about some things in it.

RD acceptance came about a week ago with a merit award.

I think these are "early write" acceptances.

Is there any rhyme or reason for those people who have been notified of their acceptance? E.G. alphebetical order, geographical distribution, etc.

Hopefully it won't be too long before I find out.

what are "early write" acceptances?

Some colleges, including Oberlin, send offers of admission to a relatively small group of applicants they consider the very best among their applicant pool. They do this to try to increase their yield among their applicants. I assume they keep on doing this because it works. These are called "early writes" because they are written and arrive earlier than the nominal late-March or April 1 normal date.

my best friend just got into oberlin with a REALLY generous scholarship! she is SO psyched. it was her first choice :D

I GOT IN!

today.

The Oberlin admissions website says RD notification is April 1. Everyone needs to have a little patience.

Congratulations OneCurlyFry!!!
We are waiting anxiously here.

Does that mean I got an Early Write?! :D

I can't believe this.
