a long time ago, i questioned the credibility of the who who's scholarship, in which u had to put in a check for $2.50

today i was sent a letter saying i was a semi-finalist.
i'm not getting my hopes up- but the lesson of the story is:

if u have to put in only a few dollars, it doesnt always mean the scholarship is a fraud.

anyone else listed as a semifinalist?
we even get our own pin #...cool right? okie i'm pathetic.....money driven that is
hehe

Well, good for you! My S got a $2000 award. Brow beated him for him spend the 10 minutes to write in the data in the small spaces provided. Let's hope your teachers can provide glowing recs.

Some of the kids on CC questioned that it was a scam.

BTW, the notice of award came on regular US mail, June(?), no fancy envelop or extra wording other than the name of sender and address. Examine the mail before you toss them. We didn't get a pin#, guess they made some improvements.

Those kids who didn't apply, just increased your odds of winning. I'm money driven too. hehe-yah!

i got to semis too. woohoo... it doesnt say how many of us there are. im guessing like 10000 or something lol

Award was $1000. Not $2000. I forgot.
The Ed. Comm. awarded 3 years ago 199- $1000 + 1-larger award.
My apology in getting the award wrong.
