on SIMON (the website for finaid), I was just notified that they were missing my 06 and 05 tax returns... my dad just filed the 06 tax returns (the w-2 forms) a few days ago, will I still be considered for financial aid?

And ALSO, if we filed the 06, why do they still want the 05? do I have to send them ANOTHER tax return file...

I already sent in the 05's, I thought those could be used in place of the '06's until they're available. My '06's won't be available until like Early March. So, basically, there's nothing I can do until then. My parents even put a rush on it, but they said that's the best they can do.

I think you should check directly with the financial aid office... but it looks like the technical deadline was Feb. 15 for the tax forms, either the 2006 forms or, if those weren't ready, the 2005 forms. Doesn't look like you need both, but again, you should check with the office.

At the Wesleyan website for prospective undergraduate financial aid, they have the following listed under requirements:

"3. Signed copies of the student's and parents' 2006 federal tax return and W2 forms (copies of 2005 federal tax returns required for Early Decision and Regular Decision if 2006 will not be available by the deadline). If there is a tax extension, please submit that documentation."

On the other hand , in the checklist in pdf format they have the following:

This website cut off half my reply, which is that if you check the pdf checklist, they refer to sending the 2005 tax form and then the 2006 when available. My interpretation is that Wesleyan wants either 2005 or 2006 by Feb. 15, and wants the 2006 eventually. But, if you disagree with this interpretation, or just want to doublecheck, it doesn't hurt to call their financial aid office.

I did check with the Wesleyan financial aid office. My son had received an email on February 27 saying he was missing at least one financial aid form. I looked at their document tracking website, and the only thing missing was the 2005 tax forms. I talked to an employee of Wesleyan financial aid this morning, and they said that the requirement for 2005 tax forms is supposed to be waived if you have submitted the 2006 tax forms. However, this was mistakenly not done by their computers for my son's case, and thus the email was generated. So now this has been corrected in the document tracking system. I mention this just in case the same thing happenned to others.
