in high school i was on my dance team and an officer my senior year.

my inability to spell will probably also hurt me:)

haha wow, you worked at best buy? i worked there for like 2 years and hated every moment :]

and i agree with matm1, hehe.

i dont have myspace....sorry, i dont like to share my picture with strangers......

this is pretty much for those of you who are currently at NYU and are waiting on penn

what're you guys doing with respect to the june 1st housing deadling? i called and asked for an extension, but was told that it's a very strict deadline and extentions aren't being granted. this is a pretty big problem since penn decisions probably aren't coming out till june 2nd. are you guys going to pay the $500 or is there another way around this?

thanks in advance

I had to pay a deposit at W&M, but I can get my deposit back if I send in a copy of my acceptance letter from a different school.

yeah, i work there now, ops and appliances. i really like appliances, ops, not so much. those freaking magazines.

today is actually my 1 year anniversity of working therem and graduating high school! ha:)

hahaha appliances seems laid back. i've worked inventory for a year, and merch, and it sucks how you sales people are SO lazy to get your merchandise down with big joe and for us to carry out your frickin refridgerators.. haha. anyways, you must be glad you're gonna get a buttload of ac's now. it's that time again, haha.

i would wait till may 30ish, then submit the $500 if decisions still haven't come up.

500 dollars ain't that big in the scheme of things :P (i sent my 400 dollar deposit to another school coz of penn's dilatory practices)

dilatory, i love that word!!

Just to those of you who are interested...the entry I am responding to is entirely false. I'm a student at UPenn and I work in admissions during the year (no, i do not read your apps, but i do know who does and how they do it).

All these batches are COMPLETELY RANDOM- hear that? RANDOM. They do not sort through the "strongest" candidates and accept them first. They take the apps in random batches and give "yes/no"s to each applicant. Every batch is done and then released before they move on to the next batch, and this process continues until all applications are read.

Basically: stop freaking out if you haven't gotten your decision. It means NOTHING other than the fact that you aren't in an early batch.

p.s..... this is the statement I negated:

"First patch woul definitely make sense to be the obvious people, which would certainly be more acceptances than rejections (most transfer people know if they are reasonable candidates). then second group is probably mostly rejections (assuming they get a reasonable amount of acceptances in first group); finally, 3rd group is going to be mostly rejections, since they already took the most qualified people in the first group. 3rd group is just based on how many people who were accepted turn them down."

i love you.

in a strictly heterosexual and asexual way.

how do we know ur telling the truth?????>

oh shush bball.

well, mr paranoia, why would i lie to you all? tryin to do a nice thing here and assuage some uneasiness. just chill out.

and if you're still skeptical...call transfer admissions and ask yourself. i'm sure joel would be happy to back me up.

thats the thing, they won't tell us anything, we cannot talk to anyone in that office, i can't get past the phone dude, who is like a rapper, with everything being rolling, rolling, and rolling. Perhaps, the admissions office should be a lil more forthcoming with its applicants, instead of creating all of this anxiety. I honestly hope what your saying has validity to it. However, I am skeptical b/c Penn has made me skeptical. I would LOVE to get in. It is by far my first choice. Bored, how come on these boards, the first batch seemed to be filled with so many acceptances and the second one, had so many rejections?

The problem is that different people from transfer admissions say different things. It isn't that nobody believes it, its that nobody knows who to believe.

Look at it this way: We had all acceptences on this board in one batch followed by all rejections in another batch. Common sense tells us that the batches were not random. Can common sense be wrong? Absolutely, but common sense is really all we have to go on.

Also, for a school like Penn to practice truly rolling admissions would seem unfair for an applicant like myself who is left until the last batch; rolling schools like Michigan tell you that it is to your advantage to apply as early as possible because if you are read later in the process there will be no spots available anymore.

yeah, i applied SO EARLY ON...and i think my stats are pretty competitive....
