hey guys I applied for the Naval Academy Summer Seminar about 4 days ago and I was wondering if anyone has been sent an early acceptance letter or anything yet?

nope not yet, but im going to be calling them tomarrow updating my class rank and PSAT scores as well as GPA

Does anyone know the times or around when the letters of acceptance are going to come through? Is it going to be around mid-April when we find out or will they send early letters of acceptance.. Also, will they send letters of rejection if you did not get in? How does it work? And also how many spots are available including all of the Seminars?

The site says about 1800 spots total for all three seminars.

Yes, they do send a letter of rejection if you're not accepted. It's usually April when they all go out.

Yup that is when DD got her first "NO"
Then she got another NO in June for candidacy.
Then she got a candidate letter in July.

Funny her BGO thought SHE turned down NASS...right..she told him "No way, are you kidding me"?
He had to note that she did not turn down NASS.

Hi everyone~
First time posting, so I gues you would call me a newbie!
My son sent his app off on 2/7. What I am wondering is
should addtional comments have been put in essay format
or is listing them okay?

From every thing that I have heard, SS is really fun, but it doesn't represent life at the Academy too well. I didn't go through it though. I'll be experiencing it for the first time as a Detailer.

that's why they call it summer scaminar. you have such a good time that you have this disproportionate view of what plebe summer is like, still, its a great experience. what company are you in?

Hey smilynn711 - Welcome aboard and congratulations on your child's appointment! Lots of we parents lurk on these forum pages and some of us are already making plans to connect in August at Parent's weekend on the sunday night, AFTER they head back to the Yard. If you'd like to join in , send an email to peskemom@yahoo.com and as the time draws close we'll work on the place and exact time to sit/chat/visit/eat/cry/laugh and enjoy being Plebe parents together!

peskemom, i think smilynn711 meant he sent in his NASS application. I don't think he meant he got an appointment.

you're correct sddude....thanks for the correction
