Thanks Scott!!! I got an email a week before because they sent the wrong form that they wanted us to complete in the mail and they wanted to make sure that everyone knew that. I also wasn't the only one that recieved that email. There were over 100 email addresses that it showed it was sent to. Definately don't expect anything, sandiegodude is totally right. They do it when ever they want.

i'm one of the ones that wasn't too excited about summer seminar--to be completely truthful, i had never heard about summer seminar and never considered the Naval Academy at that point in my life, so i didn't apply until around mid-February (after i got the brochure with cool pictures). Somehow, I got an acceptance sheet and all the info in the mail 3 days later. i don't know if that was the earliest time they started sending out acceptances to everyone, but that was when i got mine, so maybe look at that as a hopeful date. (around the 20th of February)

Sorry about the gender switchup, SwimUSNA10 -- my mistake.

I guess at this point it's all speculation. I mean, judging from previous posts, I wouldn't be suprised if at least some of us hear back in the coming week. Of course, nothing is a guarantee and most of us will probably hear back in a few weeks from now. Until then, let's sit tight and stay tuned!

ColbyBuss: My PSAT scores (I hadn't taken the SAT yet) were a 57 in math and a 63 in verbal. Just a tip, if your school ranks, I think it really helps if you can provide a straight up number out of the class rather than a percent. You can always update your NASS app. I did, and I think it really helped.

Wow, you have the same class rank as me (14%). I think you'll be fine as far as the PSAT. Your scores are good enough, in my opinion. Does anyone else have any insight?

You get a CFT or Candidate Fitness Test Score - but don't expect to have your Session Leader actually tell you the score.

Last summer, while our kiddo was STILL there at USNA, we got an email at home telling us that "so and so Midshipman was informing us that Janell had completed and passed her CFT" We had no idea what that meant, being back then pretty new to this all. It was simply a nice gesture to know this.

When we arrived to pick up our daughter at the end of NASS we asked a Mid about that email and they explained that passing CFT is required for Admission...so that was another essential step in the long process...Once we talked with our child she told us which events she maxed out on and which ones she scored fairly high on. She was (and is ) really fit - so we deduced her overal CFT must have been really high for a girl.

THanks Hbc, yea im going to call them up and tell them my new class rank when i get it on monday as well as tell them my PSAT scores, because i didnt include them in the app . . . so yea

well i just got my report card on friday, im not sure what my current rank is with the 4.38gpa but for the first half of the year (1st semister was 4.25) i was 61 out of 417, monday i will go to my guidance councelor and ask her to print out a transcript for me so i can see my current standings and i will update everyone here, hopefully it will of gone up a lot!

Woot, woot!!

Also, yea my school is filled with a lot of smart people! Like what i get on my report cards is sometimes behind what some of most of everyone gets, so yea, i do try and do my best, but sometimes and most of the time there is always someone better right there

Actually, I was responding only about the CFT score - but yes, from talking with my daughter's BGO and the Squad Leader himself - that person does make an evaluation based on the week. The person also writes an on-site letter of recommendation based on the observations. He volunteered this information to me - I wouldn't have thought to ask. He told me they can actually rank the 'squadlings' if they want, - or at least give a percentile comparison. What he said about our kiddo I won't repeat here but it was really positive - accurate - and he had nailed our child's heart and abilities in those 5 days. He encouraged us that he fully expected our child to perservere and earn an Appoinment. Can you tell why I think Charlie Session 2, 4-2 and this young man who served for 3 years as a submariner, then one year of NAPS, and volunteered his first free summer after Plebe year to do NASS was the BEST!!!

So all your NASS 06 young people - if you go - it does help the Admissions Board get an onsite look at you - it is neither a guarantee of admission nor does not going to NASS deny you a slot - but it is helpful.

I will be doing the NASS next year. I want to know your chances of getting a slot if you have decent SAT scores and class rank. Is is super competative or what?

I got in with PSAT: Reading - 65, Math - 66, Writing - 71. I got National Merit Commended, which is top 5% so they probably accept lower. Definitely try for your best score.

im reading all these posts with spectacular SAT scores and stellar grades and gpa's...my self esteem is like cleaning off the seaweed from the anchor of a huge battleship.
