Anyone know when the semifinalists get notified? And finalists?

The site says that semifinalists will be notified i nearly April, finalists in early May.:

any past scholars have more specific dates- when it was last year, etc. Also, do semis and scholars get notified before its posted online?

Did anyone receive confirmation of their receipt of the application? I hope my application didn't get lost in the mail.

bump !

Yes, DD received a cryptic post card saying they had received the application.

cryptic! lol

they printed names of local candidates in the paper this morning.
One from Bill gates alma mater- four from my daughters inner city public school

Actually the paper got it wrong I checked the list- two are actually from Lakeside, interestingly, neither one livesin Seattle

Yes, the post card said something like they had received the application, then it said to include the card with the application....didn't really make any sense. We just assumed it meant they received the completed application.

bump- any past scholars or relations of past scholars know about posting dates/notification methods for semifinalists and actual scholars?

did you look at the weblink I posted?
it has the list of 2006 candidates including their names and high schools

If I didn't get a postcard, does that mean they didn't receive my application? I'm really worried right now.

yes thanks i saw the link. But I'm wondering about the next, post-app stages. If you look at other years you will see the semifinalists and actual scholars posted. When do those come out? I know it says early April but I'm just wondering if anyone knows more specifically based on previous years. And are the students themselves notified before it goes online?

The candidate list was posted on line two days before my daughter received her packet. If they follow the same format, then semi-finalists will be posted prior to snailmail notification.

b u m p

The list was posted this morning, if anyone is interested...

Congrats and best of luck to everyone who has made it so far!

what was the minimum SAT score this year to be a candidate?

By my understanding, the minimum SAT is based on the scores in your state, so depending where you live, it could be harder (NY) or easier (MS) to become a candidate. Candidate status can also come from you ACT score (they add your category scores - math, science reasoning, etc. - and then equate that sum to the SAT scale). I am not sure if you can find the actual minimum scores on any website, but I know they are on up there. Hope that helps!

The list of 2006 scholars is out......

Hey guys what did you think of National Recognition Week? PM me with comments/feedback/whatever, and I'll pass it along...
