2007-2008 year acceptances?

: ) i'm a she

i first posted after using the "check application status" link that writermom put up, and today i got the letter about the web advisor, so i checked that and it said the same thing -- but the link in the letter gave me a "permission denied" window and wouldn't work, so i got there by searching "web advisor" off of the main chapman site

they didn't ask me for a phone interview or samples

GOOD LUCK to everyone else!

Whats good to know is that if they did not want me...they would have simply rejected me.....

because they requested my fall term grades...that means that they are at least considering me...which is very good

too bad i gotta w8t till feb. 14th to send it.....

its okay..my gpa went way up tho

I tried the status check on the website (the one where it emails you) again today, because as of yesterday the other website said approved but I was still being emailed that my application was being evaluated. I've been accepted with honors to the Film Production major, too! I am SUPER excited!

And congrats to makkuroi... maybe I'll see you there next year!

And just to add for those who were wondering, I was never contacted for a phone interview or asked to send in samples, either.

applied to Chapman University via early action

and when i put my login name and password it said that in the status box that

they requested my fall term grades

is this necessarily a bad or good thing because in fact people have already been rejected

does this mean they are at least considering me?

ahhhhhh i can't take it anymore... i want my decision....

Hey, I got my acceptance e-mail last Friday, so you guys should be hearing something soon I would hope. I got into the film school "with honors"... whatever that means.

i got the official acceptance letter in the mail today. does anybody know the deal about merit scholarships? it keeps referring to "in addition to your merit scholarship, you can apply...blah blah" but nowhere does it say "you get one, here's how much!"

So I am very confused. Do they send that stuff later? I need to know how much I got so I know if I can afford here... my mom is dying to force me to go to the cheapest school :( So I'm rebelling and not applying for scholarships at UCLA so she won't force me to go there

has anyone gotten a decision letter for screenwriting yet?

WOOOOHOOOOO...My son JUST found out on the Web Advisor site that his admission to the BFA Film Production major HAS BEEN APPROVED! You guys had us worried, with your early early acceptances last week and the admission counselor's caution that most film production apps wouldn't hear until mid to late February. Congrats to those accepted and good luck to those who haven't heard yet.

camon.... cmon cmon....

makkuroi, I don't think colleges typically tell you what your financial aid award is at the time you are accepted when you apply and are accepted early, because chances are they haven't seen or processed your FAFSA at the time they accept you. That's one of the downsides of applying early. But if you have questions about financial aid, you should contact the admissions counselor who sent you a letter after you applied--"I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for your interest in Chapman University, and also to introduce myself as your admissions liaison..." Or really, anyone in admissions should be able to explain further what was meant by "in addition to your merit scholarship..." Check out http://chapman.edu/admission/oc_ug/contact.asp for admissions staff contact info. Good luck.

OK, makkuroi, here we go again...sorry to be responding to you piecemeal on this financial aid thing. But I've been looking through all the stuff we received for my son, and here's what the "Chapman University--Now That You've Applied" brochure says: "Admitted students eligible for merit scholarship will be automatically qualified for the appropriate level based on their academic credentials and notified SHORTLY AFTER BEING NOTIFIED OF ADMISSION. Students interested in being considered for talent scholarships in the areas of Art....Film and Television...Music [etc.] should contact the appropriate department for audition or portfolio submission instructions, or contact the Office of Admission for assistance." Hope this is helpful.

Just curious we received the info letter with the computer network stuff. Do they assign all aplicants an email address at the school. We are waiting for a decision with the film school but we were wondering why or how they give all aplicants an email address at the school. It came along with the student ID and password info.

i think everyone got that email / server stuff

Holy cow, Chapman is kinda irritating me with all these letters. Some of them are useful, but most are arbitrary and don't tell me whether or not I got in. Yarrrr..

BUT... I was curious. Did anyone get accepted so far that wasn't in Film? I'm applying for communications studies and that WebAdvisor deal says "application complete, decision pending" and i got an email from them 4 minutes ago confirming that they had just completed my application.

if it's decision pending, does that mean that they're holding my application for further review, cause i applied EA.

mine says the same, decision pending. i never got an email from them confirming yet though. they said feb 1st at the latest on their website but yeah with the financial aid and the webadvisor letters im getting impatient, i took off a day of school to make sure that early action got in

Im A Non Film Student That Applied For Early Action...when I Went On Web Advisor It Said In The Status Box That They: Requested Fall Term Grades....hopefully Thats Good Thing Since There Considering Me

thanks writermom, and no i dont think you're annoying : )
I know I can't expect the need-aid info yet, but I called about the merit aid and the lady said the info would be mailed soon. She sounded really happy and she said "Ooh, I bet you're going to be really pleased!" So that's good.

The other lady just said that info about the talent scholarships from the film department would come in the mail eventually too.

Thanks for sharing the merit aid info, makkuroi.
Question for all who've been admitted: Did you actually receive an unsolicited (not automatic in response to "Check application status") email saying you were admitted? If so, did it give any other information about your admission? My son hasn't gotten anything other than 1) the Web Advisor "Admission Approved" notation and 2) the automatic "check application status" response: Congratulations! You've been accepted to Chapman
University. Your official notification is forthcoming.
It DOES seem like Chapman is a little slow/disorganized in the way they notify people....

i guess we find out feb 1st at the latest... would they send you an email if you were rejected also or just mail you a letter?
