2007 apush and ab calc

AHHH i'm so scared for my apush and ab!!!!

i mean, did anyone else get raped on their ab calc exam? so frickin hard!

and i'm just scared for history cuz well, i suck and i really want a 4 on it...=[
does anyone know what score we should get around to get a 4?
like, if we get half of the MC right, about how many points do we need on the essays?

What a coincidence, the exact same texts I took this year.
Yeah, I've been really insecure about my AP Calc AB exam, because not only was it wickedly hard I self-studied it. It was a very stressful month, since I really didn't start self-studying till April. But yeah, I got raped by the exam. Paper cuts all over, left scars. Will be crushed if I don't get at least a four.

I personally feel that I rule AP history class, but I came out of that test feel at least molested. I loathed the DBQ, I haven't heard of such a boring DBQ in all my short time on earth. Agriculture!! Are they kidding me. I literally sat their godsmacked for a full minute. I skipped the DBQ and did FR #2 then keep not any more happy and did the DBQ out of neccesity. Totally bs'd my way through. I knew very little outside information about the time period & topic. Why oh why? In class I never got less than an 8 on a DBQ, but I honestly didn't expect & wasn't prepared for that. Then I did FR#4 in like 10min;pure adrenaline at that point. Plus the Proctor didn't give us any time warning for the MC, even though I asked if she was since she's a *****. I know it's going to get censored. But I still think I did pretty well on MC.

blah....wow.
yea, the only times that I take anything, it's the hardest year. =[
if only i was born either a year earlier or later...

calc ab FR.........man i'm still having nightmares. that was cruel of collegeboard to give that specific FRQ right after the incredibly easy MC

I took Calculus AB this year and just got my scores. I know I did real well on the multiple choice and got killed by the FRQ's. I ended up with a 4 though...way better than I expected.

ya.
i bet the curve was like, 30 points = 5
HAHA.

eeeek

No
Well I guess I know what 10 chars means now.

i thought the mc section of the calc ab exam was extremely straightforward...with a small twist in a few problems. i did though answer all of them (perfect mc score?=p) though. as for the frq section...o man! i answered at least 2/6 completely and surely, correctly. as for the other four
-- i don't know what happened. i doubt i received more than 33% of the points for these four questions...surprisingly, i scored a 5.

i also took us history though i self-studied. i thought the mc was pretty much straightforward. there were about 5-7 i wasn't completely sure about, but again i didn't leave any blank. as for the frq section, i was delighted to see that the dbq was on the time period they gave us (1865-1900). i had predicted that it would be on the gilded age the night before and so i had been able to review the time period thoroughly. i had never written a dbq before the exam, though. the two other frqs that i chose were easy. i scored a 5, to my surprise (i thought a 5 was reserved for the 90%+ getters...)

lol, me too
last yr was roughly 100 pts for a 5, then like 80 for a 4 (im not 100% sure, so u can check just by googling ap grade distribution)
i dont see this yr being that different from last, so yea

MCow- There are only 108 points available for the entire test.
Generally, 60/70-108 is a 5.

Repeating what everyone above me said, Calculus MC was very simple, however the Free Response (I took the BC test) was like a slap in the face. Then the other side of the face when I ripped out the insert for the non-mc.

The US History test wasn't easy either; I wasn't very confident about the multiple-choice, but my DBQ was pretty good and my comparing presidents one was pretty good as well.

Hoping for a 4 on both!

the multiple choice alone is 50-55% of ur score, which is 75 pts. do the math, and there are 135-150 pts on the test

for ap calc ab,no. your wrong, unless your talking about the apush exam, but lildude was talking about calc. the test is out of 108. multiple choice=50%, free response=50%. free response adds up to 54 on its own, so no adjusting. multiple choice you multiply by 1.2. 45 multiple choice=#correct-1/4(number incorrect)=raw, raw*1.2=multiple choice adjusted out of 54.

so is it worth paying 8 dollars for over the phone? Cuz I took AP biology, AP US, and AP English.

gar_spartan: lol, i was talking abt apush. that would explain the confusion

Ah. Never mind MCow. When you said FR4, I thought you were talking about the Calc Test. Sorry!

Ok, I did not take AP US, but I did take Calc AB, and if I may share my story, it may put your mind at ease.

Like most people, I thought the multiple choice was rather straightforward. Then the FR came... I died... It was not just mean. It was ruthless. It was not just ugly. It was hideous. It was not just bad. It was evil. And I wanted to cry.

Knowing the multiple choice might have saved me, I thought I was on the borderline between a 3 and a 4. I was PRAYING for a 4. I got a 5. I do not know how, nor why this happened. I really think it best not to question it.

Anyway, the point of my post is, you may have done a lot better than you think, since if you thought it was hard, it may have been hard for everyone since the exam is graded on a curve, you might still end up with a commendable passing grade.

yeah, I thought FR4 was Calc, but wondered why doing a problem in 10 minutes when you get 15 was a big deal. Doing a problem in 10 minutes when you get 30, different story.

how many questions are you positive that you got wrong and how many questions did you leave completely blank (sections or a whole question)

Well, on the short answer, there was only one that I got completely right. I believe it was the second question, the one about the water-tank piecewise function. On the others, I got anywhere from two-thirds right to half-right to a third-right to one part of the question right to "how the hell did you get THAT answer?" WRONG.

On the multiple choice, I didn't leave any blank, but there's no way I could know how many questions I definitely got wrong since the the MC isn't discussed. There were a couple questions (3-4) I considered omitting, but I have this strange aversion to omitting problems... I can't do it... So I tried eliminating answers on the ones I could (which, as you may know, is rather difficult in calculus), and the ones I couldn't eliminate answers for I just guessed ("D is an awfully pretty letter, don't you think?".)
